What this service is
A single place to describe a mold problem once. You tell us what you are seeing (a musty smell over the slab, spots on a shower ceiling, a stain under the attic air handler, soft drywall behind a baseboard that got wet in a freeze) and where you live. We pass that request to independent Texas companies licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for mold assessment or mold remediation, and they contact you with quotes.
The quote is free. There is no obligation to hire anyone, and you can stop at any point. We built the site because the Plano search results are mostly franchise pages and directories, and nobody explains the local questions: why the assessor and the remediator have to be different companies, what the 25 square foot line means, why the Certificate of Mold Damage Remediation is worth asking for by name, and why slab-on-grade homes on Blackland clay get mold in places other cities do not.
What this service is not
We are not a mold company and not a licensee. This site does not inspect, test, remove or remediate mold, and does not do plumbing, roofing, HVAC, foundation or rebuild work. The companies that quote your job are independent businesses. They set their own prices, scope and terms, and any contract is between you and the company you choose.
Plano Mold Experts is an independent quote service and is not affiliated with any company of a similar name.
How companies take part, and how we are paid
Independent mold assessment companies and mold remediation companies that hold current TDLR licenses and serve Collin, Dallas or Denton County can receive quote requests from this site. Some companies pay a fee to receive requests. That fee is how the site is funded; it never changes what you pay, and it is not an endorsement or a guarantee of a company's work.
Texas law keeps assessment and remediation separate on any one project, so a request may be shared with both kinds of company. No company reached through this site will assess and remediate the same job, and we never present one as doing both.
We do not verify licenses, insurance or work quality for you. Before hiring, look each license up at tdlr.texas.gov/LicenseSearch, ask for the Consumer Mold Information Sheet, proof of at least $1 million in liability insurance and the written protocol, and read the questions to ask on the process page.
Where requests go
Plano first, including the small part of the city in Denton County, and then the towns around it: Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Richardson, Wylie, Murphy, The Colony and Carrollton. Collin County grew 21.7 percent between 2020 and 2025 to 1,297,179 people, and the companies that reply cover that growth from both the older stock in Richardson and east Plano and the new builds in Frisco and McKinney. See the service areas page.
How we write
Prices on this site are published third-party ranges with their dates, never our prices. Legal summaries come from the Texas Occupations Code, the TDLR rules, the Texas Department of Insurance and the Property Code, and they are general information, not legal, insurance or medical advice. Local facts come from NOAA, FEMA, the Census Bureau, the National Weather Service and local news. We do not publish reviews, job counts or response-time promises, because we do not do the work. Images on the site are illustrations, not photos of jobs.
Mold companies: want to receive requests?
If your company holds a current TDLR mold assessment or mold remediation license, carries the required liability insurance and serves Plano or Collin County, use the form with "Not sure yet" selected and describe your company, your license number and the ZIP codes you cover. We reply to discuss how requests are shared.
Homeowners: describe the problem once
Where the mold is, the rough size, what got wet and when, and the age of the house. Independent licensed companies reply with free, no-obligation quotes.
